First of all, I'm really excited to be on my first full year of teaching at Bailey! My name is Taylor Loudermilk and I am transferring to Bailey after a year and a half of teaching US History at Boles Jr. High. I graduated from the University of Texas of Arlington with a Bachelors in History in 2008 and a Masters in Education in 2015. I also graduated from Arlington High School in 2002. But I haven't lived in a bubble my whole life, I've been lucky enough to live and throughout the world.
I taught English as a Foreign Language one year in Cordoba Spain and two years in Changhua Taiwan. I loved living in both countries because I experienced different ways of life. My normal ranged from siestas and 9 P.M. dinners in Spain to scooter driving (with the locals) and daily firework displays (mostly noise) in Taiwan. I also enjoyed learning languages and can speak conversational Spanish and basic Mandarin Chinese. But most importantly, I developed a love of teaching while overseas that I brought back to my home town of Arlington Texas.
I'm excited that I now get to teach history, my real passion. I find all areas of history interesting especially Texas history because its unique peoples, ideas, and development (to name a few) in the world. I also enjoy military, Spanish, and Russian history.
As for me the person... I can't describe how happy I am to be an expecting father! Our first baby is due September 21st (it will be a surprise if it is a boy or girl). I'm married Maggie Brentlinger (now Loudermilk), who is a Spanish teacher at Lamar High School. When the school let's me out I enjoy exercising, reading, building/fixing things, cooking, walking our dogs Sheba and Scipio (Skips), watching WWII documentaries, and most other things human beings enjoy.
This website is still a work in progress.
